Advertising

Advertising is both an artform and a science. Since we struggle to even draw stickfigures, we focus on the science side of advertising and markeing and use the power of machine learning to help our clients identify and target unique audiences that will yield new customers.  

The procees is simple; we get to know our clients, their products and services, and then we look at the characteristics (demographic, socioeconomic, etc.) of their current clients. After we have created a profile for a potential client, we turn to our proprietary machine learning algorithm to scour our comercial and/or voter file data bases to identifiy individuals and/or households that are similar to the client’s current customer base.

Then, we discuss how we can engage the targeted audience with the most cost-effective digital campaing.

In today’s digital landscape, advertisements are not only deployed to a targeted individual’s device, but the ad also won an auction in the microseconds before the ad appears, using high-speed algorithms originally designed for lightning-fast trading on Wall Street.

We use a partner’s technology to win those auctions about 80 percent of the time. Because we just have better algorithms.

“If you’re reading the Times of Northwest Indiana website on a computer or app on a mobile device, or the IndyStar, for instance, you will see a client’s ads pop up while you’re scrolling down the page,” says David Galvin, CEO of Colfax Communications. “It might be across the top, might be along the side.”

A key concept that Colfax always seeks to convey: It’s important to have accurate expectations about an IP-targeted ad’s function.

“What they are good at,” Galvin says, “is for brand visibility regularly.”

In many cases, the goal of the IP-targeted ad is to “soften the target” with videos or GIFs that repeatedly catch the eye of an individual. A targeted person might receive a slogan – for instance, a recent campaign for a nonprofit that assists veterans: “No hero should be homeless” – and then see it every day, maybe twice a day, for three months.

The follow-on, then, is an email, a postcard, a Facebook ad.

“The likelihood of you engaging in one of those mediums is higher,” Galvin says. “Each advertising initiative is of course unique and custom-designed for your enterprise.

“But if you come in with accurate expectations of what can be achieved with the various digital and non-digital tools, in combination, your chances of success go way, way up.”

Our data science team uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to sort through our database of unregistered citizens to identify those who are likely to vote for your party’s candidate(s).

After we identify those who have a 60% to 70% propensity to cast a ballot for your campaign and/or your party’s candidate(s), we will provide you with the following data points:

  • Full names.
  • Full addresses.
  • Land and cell phone numbers.
  • Legislative district ID.
  • Gender.
  • Age.

We can also provide you with email addresses and IP addresses to help you connect with these prospective voters.

COVID-19 contact tracing
